SUBJECT: RE: I ordered but...I bought my kit "over the counter" at the London Linux Expo; hence instant delivery (and slightly long arms carrying it on the Tube).
All installed in < 2 hours and now playing happily. Thankyou to the stand organisers for being wide-awake.
9 out of 10 to Sony for backing this venture; my quibbles would be these.
a. the contents of the kit are standard, boxed, Sony parts; so why not let users shop for the bits that they do not have - instead of one standard bundle.
b. the $£"! RTE. I am concerned that DVD-1 will have a short life because it is going to be handled quite frequently. It appears that if my dog was to eat the DVD, it could only be replaced by buying the entire kit again - arrgh !! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Mr Sony think about reducing the pain / cost of a damaged DVD. Even closed o/s's build machines that will boot *without* the original install media. |
