Summary:Coding Contest Time everywhere!

I'm pleased to announce the global PS2Linux VU Coding Contest is open!

We finally have rules, specs, and the harness available for download in the VU Demo Contest project:
http://playstation2-linux.com/files/vudemocontest/vu_coding_contest_2003_ps2linux.tgz

The competition is open to amateurs with Linux kits everywhere; professional PlayStation 2 developers are welcome to send us demos in time for the deadline, and we will be happy to post them on the site, however please note that if you are a professional PlayStation 2 developer, you will not be able to officially enter to be considered for judging and prizes.

To enter, download the harness, review the rules and terms, and write a VU1 demo in accordance with the technical specs. Submit your demo to coding_competition@scee.net with your name, e-mail address, and if you are happy to have it disclosed, your playstation2-linux.com login.

You have until Midnight GMT on Monday 21st July to send in your entries (Sunday night/Monday Morning).

The first prize is a Sony SDM-X82B black 18" LCD monitor, with speakers. We encourage everyone to consider taking part; don't be shy - what have you got to lose?

SUBJECT: RE: VU tutorials

Thanks, and I'm only on a first draft at the moment, I only released it this early because of the impending competition deadline :)

Ben, I've got another couple of ideas for tutorials on the way, but when I've exhausted those, would it be OK to do a dissection of your plasmaroids demo? I thoroughly enjoyed playing it, and I want an excuse to analyse the source properly... but it's no big deal if you'd rather I didn't.
