SUBJECT: Connecting ps2 to pc

I am new to ps2 linux and also new to linux generally. I am trying to connect my ps2 to my pc so I can transer files across. I am using a crossover cable.

The pc seems to recognise the ps2. I can ping the ps2 from the command prompt. If I try to connect using PuTTY I get a 'connection refused' error message.

Any ideas?
