The VU demos are all available on this website. Check out https://playstation2-linux.com/projects/vudemocontest/ for more info. There's even SOURCE (vcl) for some of the demos.

I use windowmaker because, as you said, it's not dog slow. I'm trying to demo that Linux for PlayStation 2 is actually useful for some things. Grin.

As for how it went, I'd say quite well. The folks at LUGOD were quite gracious, particularly considering they were totally my guinea pigs. I'm going to be giving similar presentations at (hopefully) lots of LUGS this year.

I used microsoft power point on my laptop to display the slides, and yes, I know it's a total copout. However, for the purpose of integrating with a random projector and using the multihead capabilties of my laptop, this was the quick and easy choice.
