SUBJECT: Original Linux 2.4.17_mvl21

As some if you know, the Linux 2.4.17 tarball that can be downloaded at Sony's website is based on a package from MontaVista, hence the name 2.4.17_mvl21.

Yesterday I spoke with a developer at MontaVista (who gave a nice presentation about locking and preemption in the Linux kernel by the way) and talked to him about the availability of old sources. Today he emailed me a link to the entire MontaVista 2.1 development kit CD. I made some diffs between:

- Linux 2.4.17 and Linux 2.4.17_mvl21
- Linux 2.4.17_mvl21 and Linux 2.4.17_ps2

Patches are available for download at:

http://www.il.fontys.nl/~ed/projects/ps2linux/distfiles/original/

Not that the patches are really useful, but it could ease the effort of finding the Playstation2 bits in the sourcecode.
