SUBJECT: Hard drives and PS2 Linux

Unfortunately, I really can't afford £180 for the Sony Linux kit

BUT

I do have a 40GB 3.5" IDE hard drive! So, I was wondering if I could use this under Linux on a UK (PAL) PS2? Would I need a special cable or adapter to use it?

What about power? Does the PS2 have a power cable inside for the hard drive?

How would I have an IDE CDRW plugged in simultaneously on a UK PS2? Could I just use a standard 2 headed PC IDE cable? I realise I'd probably need an external power supply for this though.

Thanks!

Dan
