SUBJECT: Booting on a slim

Hello, I have a laptop and a Playstation slim. I recently switched from using Vista on my laptop to using Ubuntu, a Linux OS. I'm interested in using Linux on my playstation as well. The slim obviously doesn't support a drive in the same way an older PS with a network adapter does. Instead of going out to buy an external drive is there any way to, say, install a partition on my laptop internal drive with PS Linux on it then network the PS2 and laptop so that I can boot Linux onto the PS2 from the partition on my laptop?
