SUBJECT: Moving Data from VU1 to Main MemoryI am somewhat new to PS2 programming, so I have a question about moving data from VU1'S 16K of memory back to main memory. From reading the manuals, it seems that it may be possible to directly use the VIF to move the data in the other direction, from the VU to main memory. However, the only sure way that I can see to move the data is to move the data from VU1 to the VRAM on the GS and then from there use one of the already written VRAM download functions to move the data to main memory.
Am I understanding the hardware architecture correctly in thinking that the quickest way to move data from VU1 to main memory is to bounce it off the VRAM in the GS?
